Emily Wilding Davison Suffragette Fridge Magnet

£6.00

A classic fridge magnet for the modern suffragette and essential accessory in any feminist kitchen. Emily Davison died on 8th June, 1913, from injuries sustained at Epsom racecourse where, four days earlier, she had stepped in front of the King’s horse as a protest for the right of women to vote. This magnet features the cover of the Suffragette Newspaper published on June 13th a day before the funeral procession in London. It portrays Emily as an angel on the racecourse. Women finally gained limited voting rights in 1918 and the same rights as men in 1928.
