Wreath laying
St John’s Parish Church
Anglican and Methodist representatives join in welcoming guests to lay wreaths on the grave of James Hammett, the only Martyr to return to Tolpuddle after transportation.
At about 13.00 on Sunday, guest speakers will gather to walk over the road to St John’s Parish church. A short and moving occasion will feature welcomes from Methodist and Anglican speakers, music and the laying of wreaths on the grave of James Hammett, the only Tolpuddle Martyr to end his days in the village.
