Trains, public buses and shuttle buses
There are two stations in Dorchester - West and South - about five-minutes walk between each other.
Trains coming from the east of England (London/Southampton/Bournemouth) stop at Dorchester South.
Arriving on Friday 17 July 2020
There is a public bus route no.187 from Dorchester South on Fridays: 08.50, 12.50, 15.55 and 17.45 (check closer to the time in case of timetable changes)
Arriving on Saturday 18 July 2020
There is no public bus service or festival shuttle. You will need to make your own arrangements or get a taxi to get to Tolpuddle.
Arriving and leaving on Sunday 19 July 2020
Shuttle buses are available to and from the festival site on Sunday 19 July 2020
- From Dorchester West and South stations at 10.30am and 11.30am - both stations are close to each other. (arriving approx. 40 minutes after departure).
- Return from the bus stop opposite the Tolpuddle Museum at 17.30 and 18.30 to Dorchester stations
£3 per person each way - there is no advance booking required for this shuttle.

If you are heading for the festival please allow more time as the roads are likely to be busy. Roads through the village will be closed on Sunday during the afternoon. See below for more information on road closures.
There is a parking charge of £10 for all car parks in the village. Click here to purchase your vehicle pass in advance.
The main road through Tolpuddle will be closed on Sunday 19 July 2020 due to the festival from 1.00pm until 6.00pm.
After this point, access is only available to the festival car parks from the east direction of the village until around 1.45pm - after which, entry will also be closed.
Traffic is strictly prohibitied during the procession and is not opened until it is safe to do so.
Group coaches/ private coaches on Sunday 19 July 2020

There are no taxi companies within Tolpuddle and service to and from the site is very limited as Tolpuddle is a small village. There are a range of taxi companies in Dorchester but these get booked quickly. Please plan in advance.
