If you are heading for the festival please allow more time as it is a busy time of year and the roads are likley to be busy.

There is a parking charge of £10

Road closure

The main road through Tolpuddle is closed on the Sunday of the festival from 1pm until 6pm. Access is still available to the festival car parks from the east direction only until around 1.45. Traffic is strictly prohibitied during the procession and is not opened until it is safe to do so. 

Trains, public buses and shuttle buses

There are two stations in Dorchester, West and South, about a five-minute walk apart. Trains coming from the east - London/Southampton/Bournemouth stop at Dorchester South.

Arriving by train on Friday 17 July 2020

There is a public bus route 187 from Dorchester South on Fridays: 8.50, 12.50, 15.55 and 17.45 (check closer to the time in case there have been any timetable changes)

Shuttle bus advance booking required click here.  We have aranged a coach to meet the 18.08 and 19.06 westbound trains. £5 per person to Tolpuddle. 

Arriving by train on Saturday 18 July 2020

There is no public bus service or festival shuttle. You will need to make your own arrangement or get a taxi to get to Tolpuddle

The Festival runs shuttle buses on Sunday 19 July 2020

Dorchester West and South stations at 10.30 and 11.30 - both stations are close to each other.

Return from Bus Stop opposite Museum at 17.30 and 18.30

Coaches on Sunday 19 July 2020

If informed of coaches coming to the festival that we know about, these will be listed below.

Taxi

There are no taxi companies within Tolpuddle and service to and from the site is very limited as Tolpuddle is a small village. 

Where to stay

If you are not camping at the festival site you will find that local accommodation can be hard to find. The Dorchester Tourist Information Centre will be happy to help
